August 28, 2026 - Italian luxury brand Tod's is advancing its digital transformation journey by bringing the Digital Product Passport (DPP) live on Tods.com for the most iconic styles of the brand’s Gommino loafer collection. Developed in collaboration with Renoon, the initiative marks the first phase of a broader rollout, which will take place in the near future.
The Digital Passport interface is now accessible directly on Tod's e-commerce platform, giving customers verified information about each item's materials, production processes, locations and company certifications, embedded at the point of discovery.
Each passport is powered by Renoon, which structures and confirms consistency of product and supply chain data across Tod's internal systems and partners, translating it into a digital experience that surfaces verified data and documentation within the product page itself.
Data authenticity and immutability are ensured through blockchain infrastructure, in continuity with Tod's longstanding membership of the Aura Blockchain Consortium, which the brand joined in 2023 to secure digital product passports across its iconic collections. Aura provides the secure Digital Product Passport ecosystem that enables verified product information to be recorded, protected and shared with confidence across the product lifecycle. The Renoon infrastructure has been designed for progressive expansion across additional product categories, data points, and supply chain tiers over time, while leveraging Aura’s blockchain infrastructure for an added layer of security. The launch places Tod's among a small group of luxury brands building and launching genuine DPP infrastructure ahead of the regulatory curve. In view of the EU ESPR delegated act for the textile sector, expected between the end of 2027 and the beginning of 2028, Tod's is establishing its data architecture, adapting the framework to its own supply chain. Footwear-specific requirements remain further out, making this initiative a deliberate strategic decision rather than a compliance response.
This collaboration represents a concrete step in preparing proactively for the upcoming EU Digital Product Passport and Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), while creating the foundation for scalable traceability and transparency within Tod's digital ecosystem.
“Quality and craftsmanship have always been the core values of Tod’s DNA and remain the guiding principles behind every Tod’s creation. With our Digital Product Passport, we are bringing verified product information directly into the customer experience, making the story and the people behind each product more transparent and accessible. Together with Renoon and Aura Consortium,, we are creating a digital ecosystem that connects our heritage of craftsmanship with the future of luxury," said Carlo Alberto Beretta, Tod’s General Brand Manager.
“At a moment when the industry is navigating significant headwinds, Tod's has been quietly building. Enabling Digital Product Passports into the online purchase experience for customers is not a small decision: it’s infrastructure laid with intention that rethinks legislation before it sets. This not only defines what product transparency means for the brand but for luxury as an industry. This is what leadership in technology and product looks like. That's the kind of partner Renoon is built to work with,” stated Iris Skrami, CEO, Renoon
The Digital Product Passport for the Gommino Loafer will be available on tods.com starting September 1st.
