O My Bag is an Amsterdam-based bags and accessories brand whose product model already extends beyond the initial sale. Alongside its collections, the company operates Repair and Second Chances programmes designed to keep bags in use and has built extensive visibility across its manufacturing and material supply chain.
Supply-chain transparency and product longevity have been part of O My Bag’s approach since the brand was founded. Its Digital Product Passport implementation with Renoon builds on these existing practices by connecting the information behind each product and making relevant data accessible at product level.
Bags fall within the broad product scope of the ESPR, but they are not among the first priority product groups identified in the 2025–2030 Working Plan. While categories such as textile apparel are already progressing towards product-specific requirements, the timeline and specific Digital Product Passport requirements for bags have not yet been defined.
O My Bag is therefore implementing Digital Product Passports ahead of category-specific requirements. The decision also builds on a commitment that has shaped the brand since its beginnings. Supply-chain transparency has been a central part of how the brand operates and communicates how its bags are made since its foundation.
The brand currently reports 100% traceability across its Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers (2030 Vision, O My Bag). For leather, for example, the brand can trace hides to tannery level, while visibility further upstream to farm-level origin remains more complex.
With Renoon as its DPP provider, O My Bag can connect information across products, materials and suppliers within a common data structure and make the relevant information easily understandable and accessible to customers, while continuing to identify where additional data needs to be collected upstream.
O My Bag’s Digital Product Passports make information on materials, makers, supply chain and environmental footprint accessible alongside care guidance, repair services and second-life options.
This reflects the way the brand already manages its products after purchase. O My Bag offers a lifetime guarantee covering hardware and production issues and runs dedicated Repair and Second Chances programmes. In 2025, it handled 1,689 repairs and gave 1,145 products a second chance through resale.
Products returning after several years of use also generate information. They provide evidence of how materials, components and construction perform in real conditions. O My Bag analyses recurring repair issues and customer feedback and uses those insights to inform product quality and the development of subsequent products.
The Digital Product Passport complements this process by keeping relevant product information and services accessible beyond the initial purchase.
With the launch of its new collection, O My Bag is extending the Digital Product Passport implementation established with Renoon in 2025 to its latest products. As the portfolio grows, the same infrastructure can incorporate new product information while remaining adaptable to future regulatory requirements for bags.
For bags and accessories brands, category-specific DPP requirements are still to be defined, but the foundations for compliance can already be established. The ESPR sets common technical requirements for Digital Product Passports, including unique identifiers, data carriers, accessibility and interoperability. Future product-specific requirements will further define elements such as the required dataset, granularity and access rights.
